Big Twin Evo Weld-On Hardtail with Cast Axle Plates
Specifically designed for Harley-Davidson Evo Big Twin original factory frames from 1985-99. This hardtail does not require a professional frame jig for installation, although the use of a jig is always a plus. All parts and manufacturing are made in the USA. Axle plates and Seat Post Yokes are HD replicas. All assembly and TIG welding in Northern California. This hardtail was designed to meet original Harley specifications of the Evo Big Twin tail section. There is no added stretch or height changing in the rear section. When it’s all said and done the rear section is as close to a Panhead as it gets. We designed this hardtail to have a simple install procedure and most importantly preserve your bikes VIN numbers to minimize registration/dmv related headaches. During installation you will need to cut out the stock seat post area, metal plating and all. The top tube of our hardtail is slugged allowing you to graft into the existing top tube, in front of the seat post casting, preserving a more original Harley look. The top rails taper in for a slim profile, mimicking the original panhead frames. Our bottom drive side tube kicks out to allow for ample chain clearance, and all bottom rails are made from 1-1/8 DOM tubing to fit seamlessly into the frame’s existing bottom rails. This hardtail was designed for the 5 speed transmissions. If you are running a 4 speed transmission you will need to get a conversion plate. We plan to make one in the future, so stay tuned. Check out our downloadable. For detailed instructions and tool list. Installation video is coming soon. For those of you needing a 3/4 axle for disc brake applications, check out our. 2 bottom rail slugs.
